LONG JOURNEY IN MY MIND

Take a long journey  To the center of my mind. Thoughts are everlasting Even though I don’t really try. Across the fields of yesterday And climb the mountains of tomorrow. Drive the freeways of today. Stopping only for a glimpse of sorrow. For what I should’ve done And where I should’ve gone. Only regrets are left Through the landscape of the past. Flowers and trees all along the way Friendships that slipped on by. Rock n Roll and TV Are the only constants there to see. Mother nature calling Showing off all of its beauty. The sky, the mountains, the ocean, The deserts, valleys, and forests. What is left for me to do?  What should I do know? I still have no idea. So I’ll just sit and write until the day I die. Depression is a strange disease. It eats you up inside. Your mind is never at ease. All you want to do is run away and hide. For those who are not afflicted, You probably don’t understand. But think about your saddest day. It is like that first thing every morning. Every day is a chore just trying to wake up. Eating, showering, and deciding what to do; You don’t want to do anything. Then your loved ones call you lazy. That makes you even more depressed And angry at the world.  Then anybody that gets in your way that day Adds to your anger. Whether cutting you off on the streets, Or just looking at you the wrong way. Writing is an outlet,  The best that I have found. I don’t take my Prozac.  I’m afraid I’ll get addicted. Even though they tell me I won’t. Opening up is not easy to do.  But is definitely needed. I hope you all understand now All my poems that have preceded.
