Dreamer

A child,  wanders in the  night, partnered  by  phantoms in fear driven dreams, driven by whispers ghostly inflections, craving direction but rattling chains memories stain with visions that almost were    Rescue floats beyond the minds’ reach, riding the crest of a spectral mist. The hosts of the dream,  fiends or friends,  so little to tell  the difference. A tryst, they whisper, pale suggestions of meanness or meaning. will there be flight or fall? endless dillusion, startling conclusion in  swift   sweet  release A child  rises in the night Silently  searches peace  at the crack   in the door.
