Climbing The Mountain

Shivering in the mountain’s dark shadow And fighting his fear deep inside, He started his quest on that morning As he put trepidation aside. He climbed up the face of the mountain, A struggling man all alone Bleeding and spent from his effort To conquer this foe made of stone. His struggle continued a long time He inched his way up day by day But still he kept climbing the mountain Despite all his fear and dismay. When he finally had conquered the mountain He stood on the peak filled with pride. A man who kept climbing the mountain, And managed to put fear aside.
