A Journey through Words

I search my thoughts for rhythm and rhyme, delicately seasoned like basil and thyme. Words that are pleasing to the inner self, to be read and wept over, not put on a shelf. Lines that convey what I really feel, that speak to the soul with artful appeal, pleasing to a multi-faceted audience, not forced on the page for my own convenience. It's perfection in thoughts turned to words that I seek, though I perceive it eludes me with every critique. Still, I continue in pursuit of my goal, while the journey through words caresses my soul.
