Slowly Dying

Her young heart aches to be filled with love, A love she has yet to comprehend. Desperate, she sneaks out of her home, Searching for a man to be her friend. Her sweet innocence soon betrays her, As he leaves her out there all alone. Her virgin soul now torn and corrupt, From a love she thought was fully grown. Time passes, and pain blankets her world, As weakness and sorrow become her game. Her mind depressed with visions of hate, Nothing will ever conquer her shame. Her endless tears lead her to sickness, As the days and months slowly go by. Her face becomes pale and feverish, As she begins to wonder why. She completes many frightening tests, Unsure of what they are looking for. What could be wrong with her betrayed soul? Just depression and nothing more. Her false sense of security ends, As her tragic life begins to fade. Remember that love she longed to find? It left her diagnosed into the world of AIDS.
