The Hit and Run

Do you remember what it was like  to play in the street, outside our house. How our mother's had always said, "stay close by, and play it safe". We stayed outside where we were told waiting on sky and Jane to arrive. Until the day that sky crossed the road then called to Jane, for her to follow. After looking left and righ,  as safe as it was Jane came across. It happend so fast without a minute to spare a car sped, around the bend. By the time we got near, it was all to late the force of the hit had taken a life of a child of four so inocent and true, it was awful how this man, could be so cruel. Her mother sat and cradled her tight as the ambulance came, and took Jane away. We all stood silent for the friend we lost. On this day that came with a cost I will never forget Jane's  bloody face  that haunted us all, from that very day. After this we all listend hard  for what our mothers would say about  the hit and run.
