Lies and Consequences

As I sit here on the sand      of this strange and distant land, I hear a voice drifting on the air,       from a radio somewhere. It speakes of peace an end to war,       when men will fight and die no more.  Yet here I sit on blood soaked sand      and watch my life drip through my hands-  As the voice drones on and on,      with the old fimiliar song.

Additional Notes:
I will never forget the endless lies of LBJ and Robert McMamara during the period of the Viet Nam war. The title of this poem was Lies and Consequences (Or McNamara's Band)and was shortened for this submission.
