To My Daughter, Alisa

As I think back  to that memorable day, When those first few fears just melted away. The expectant mother  angst, I recall, changed very swiftly.  You sure did enthrall! As I studied your face  and counted toes, I realized something  Every Mom knows. My prayer was answered,  My sweet firstborn child! I kissed your forhead, and I know you smiled! From that day forward,  whatever you do; You'll never bring me  shame, for I love you. I look to the future  with faith in my heart. I thank God in heaven  for our wondrous start.
