A Nurses Prayer

Give to my heart Lord compassion for caring, give me patience of mind to be ever forbearing. Give to my hands this tenderest skill, yet let them be strong, in doing thy will. Give to my ears Lord the power to hear, that I may give answer to each thought or fear. But most of all give me all the love you can spare, so that I can pass it to those in my care.

Additional Notes:
I was lying at deaths door in 1997, and a Nurse at the hospital where I was, came and sat with me thru the night, because my family lived to far away to get there. I will never forget her, and I keep the memory in this poem I wrote in her honor.
