For Certainty Things pass. Come and go. Here now for such a short, fleeting time. Gone then never turning back, never looking back. Life at times seems so uncertain. A steady hand always there to hold. Always sure footed. Things come when anticipated. Then, for reasons we don’t know, all that we live for falls. Shattering when they land. Pieces now that can do so little. Finding no meaning. Holding, grasping, for just a little hope. All that we strived for, longed for, are gone. Nothing now but to start over. There is one thing that when it falls, It never shatters. Never even receives the slightest blemish. A strength so unknown, it could only be looked on with wonder. This thing so remarkably well built. Are my feelings for you. Nothing can shatter it. No fall of uncertainty can mare it. It is my most cherished belonging. The one last to fall. The one first to be picked up. All things built around it. I have you to thank. For all the sacrifices. For not hating in all I’ve done. Being there when I need and want you. I know with no doubt, You are always there to hold hands. To help watch my step. For not being there when anticipated, but before. |
