Dreamscape

We have a dream of love. "With whom?" you may ask. But alas, this is a question without an answer, for we are in love with being in love. We become suddenly aware of everything, all at once: Have you noticed how the sun shines brighter? Her sunbeams reach down from heaven, and wrap us in their warmth. Or the single blade of grass to which a ladybug clings. Maybe it's just the butterfly that beats his silken wings, as he hovers for a fly-by sip, of the sweet nectar from a dew-dropped flower. Have you heard the weeping willow laugh? Now her tears of sorrow are ones of joy. Perhaps it is the beautiful serenade of song birds. They sing only for us. Or the way the waves crash relentlessly upon rock, in and out, at the command of our every breath. We sit upon the Earth, caught in the moment... JUST BEING ALIVE! Soon the sun paints a picture of serenity, while she slides behind snow-capped mountains to rest. The man in the moon smiles with us, as he rises to keep his nightly watch of the world. We're entertained by a firefly's dance, set to a fiddling grasshopper's tune. Oh, to be able to live in this one moment forever, It is... a dream we share.
