Sun and Shadow

When reaching out for you I would not extend my arm out so far as to even pretend that my touch was welcome or my words could breach, what's best left in stillness quite out of my reach. Like a soft summer breeze to silence resigned, I'll sift through the shadows that you leave behind as you walk toward the sun enjoying the view. With what little I know of the sun and you, I'll look to the future and carefully trace your movements predicting the time and the place when, with sun at your back, I'll touch you at last by hiding inside of the shadow you cast.
