Promises

You promised me the world,      Till dealth do we part. I promised to love,      Never to depart. We believed in these promises,      It would be different this time. We were wrong again,      With each passing night. Faults laid to blame,      Lacking of love. Repossessing promises made,      Yours to me, Mine to myself. To shock everybody,      Was the greatest challenge. They say it is the easy way out,      It would be easiest to stay.
