Grumpchkin Their once was a girl who was often quite grumpy- I don’t think she slept well: Her mattress was lumpy. She walked through each day, always wearing a frown- The corners of her mouth, hung all the way down! Her eyes spun like pinwheels, and smoke poured from her ears- This went on day after day, for over twelve years! One day she was snappish, and particularly snarly- Stomping and screaming and exceptionally gnarly. Her face froze in place so she would never smile again- She suddenly grew cloven hooves where her feet had been. Huge bat-like wings sprouted right out of her back- And the skin on her face: it started to crack! Hair grew like weeds ‘til it covered every square inch- We all started screaming, “This is worse than the Grinch!” She roared so loud it shook the whole ground- Sirens went off for miles all around! Suddenly she was quiet, and let out a big sigh- Why that grumpy little monster was starting to cry! The wings and hooves faded, and the hair disappeared- She sniffled and smiled, and everyone cheered! Her happy mom ran to hug her, squeezing her and smothering her in kisses- “I’m so glad my munchkin’s back! You will never again have to do the dishes!” |
Additional Notes:
I wrote this just for fun for my 12 year old daughter whom I like to call
'Munchk'(short for munchkin). It got her to smile anyhow, and I hope it does
the same for you!:)
