The Storm

I was awoken tonight. Not by a dream, or a nightmare, but from them. The bright crashes from the sky that tells me there's a war. Maybe within - reflecting out. And then the memories of his voice. "No more secrets.  Don't hide." And another crash, and another flash of fear runs through my blood. Do I dare tell all? Or even just half? Do I dare let down the walls And risk a laugh, from out of your mouth as a reaction to  what you want to hear? The walls inside, built so high, so thick... Should I be so quick to let them down? But if I ever want to know happiness, it is inevitable. They will be crashed in as the lightning within you hits them and they fall with the sound of thunder.
