A Light For The Cypress

The staid Cypress wore a haunted look, Gnarled branches blackened with time. It stood in darkness, a funeral tree, Draped in a mourning veil of dry-rotted moss. Sun never reached those darkened shadows, No light to lift the cloak of pain; The Cypress waved its veil of sorrow, Moaned its wish into the wind. The wish was caught in a whirlwind high, And spun far up into the sky. The moon could hear its whispered cry. An answer came, a cascading stream, Celestial glow, from a loose moonbeam. As the spheroid fell, love's imagery, A gift of light for the Cypress tree. Now when walking upon the banks, Of the Bayou where the Cypress drinks; There stands a tall and stately tree, Aglow in its new harmony. From the water's reflection, Bright shimmering light, Throws silver kisses into the night.

Additional Notes:
I've simply let the first unrhymed stanza write its own song.
