Will Dejection Flee?

Will the spirit touch me tonight? Each tantalizing taste on my tongue so light, That every mortal swoons at her favor in me. She unlocks my mind like a burning key, Torches each synapse, enflames each neuron, And fades into the mist with eccentric evasion To my plees. Deaf to my loving persuasion Which coerces, cajoles, and curses it on, Despite her gifts. Is it then true That my checkered past with you Remains my inspiration, my love, my need? I am not saitiated. An aging hunger waits to feed.
