I Wonder

I wonder how it is,      I ache for you so deeply,      I need for you so freely, Yet still I fear to touch you. I wonder how it is,      A person still so distant,      Demure and yet persistent, Can touch my heart so deeply. I wonder why it is,      I long to hear you speaking,      Want to watch you waking, Yet still I fear our meeting. I wonder how it is,      You come to me unheeding,      Secure with life unneeding, Can face the dark I’m bleeding. I wonder how it is,      I see in us our difference,      Our path leads towards resistance Yet still I yearn to love you. I wonder. . .
