A Heavenly Body

I think  that I’ll discover a heavenly body     and name it after you.     I’ll play for you the lyre, cradle it gently     and caress the strings lightly as I softly     sing into the night,     words composed of love and adoration for the light     shining down to guide me through those dark                                                                   and desperate                                                                                               hours before the dawn.     I’ll never know the loneliness     of being all alone when,     with colors that enchant me     and canvas lighted by the moon,     I paint your pristine beauty with stroke of brush divine     and hold that image in my arms while with my heart and eyes     I travel to the stars.
