Divine Heart of Light God lifts off night's blanket, stretches her rays, and rises in sleepy pastels until the earth is ready for the dawn of her brightness. She lets the breeze play with her sunbeam wand and partners the dew in its tiptoe trip around the grass to scatter tiny jewels. She greets a hilly friend, dressed in soft lush-leaf gown with waterfall hair cascading toward a willow in weeping whose fingertips flutter hopefully. Our God plays hide-and-seek among the forest trees, dazzling their emerald scarves and affirming their graceful arms that wave and branch out to each other. She spotlights smiling sunflowers who nod to the rhythm of a lilting tune as neighboring daisy dancers become the gold stars of summer's grand entrance. Ah, the winds sigh now and clouds begin to weep, grieving for the buried sun who claims her own resurrection in a rich rainbow spectrum. I greet God's triumphant return and warm to her presence as she generously gifts my soul with a blessed sleep that slows the applause of my heartbeat. |
Additional Notes:
This is a more pointedly spiritual and a "summer-ized" remake of "Heart of Light," published here in April.
