The Unforgiven It’s true, you will be redeemed, And resurrected time and again By those on the verge of martyrdom. And you will hold out your wounds to them To be washed by their worship, And speak of the sacred sacrifice Of forgiving those they condemn. The blinding light of your victory Casts the shadows that hide your loss, Over those outstretched and forgotten On the other side of the cross. |
