Answered prayer I sat in the courtroom they finally called your name. Tears welled up in my eyes, my legs became lame. They brought you out in orange clothes, and chains on your feet. And as your mother son, I have to say I felt defeat! I saw that you’d been crying tear stains on your face I just wanted to hold you, but couldn’t in that place. Time went by so slowly as they spoke of your case. The guns that had been stolen, the robbery that took place. When they gave your sentence I watched you standing there Such a young man only 18, and in so much despair. Five years is what the judge said, and then they took you away. My heart was filled agony, my thoughts filled with blame. Memories of your childhood kept flashing threw my mind. The divorce between your dad, and I when you were only 9. After that had happened you were never quiet the same you started skipping school, and talking of the gangs. Getting in to trouble seemed to be the thing. Ending up in Juvey saying that you’d change. I wished that I could have helped you, money was so tight but that’s what you’ve heard most of your life. Time has gone by now. you got your G.E.D that was a big moment for you, and for me. You say you’ve found God and God has been helping you. Nothing else you could have said could have made me say YAHOO. My prayers finally answered, God has always been with you. And now that you have found Him my worries seam so few. |
