Exodus

Sometimes the heart must speak Silver cord thinning Shut the mind, smell the pine Open the heart, see it dart Remember the smile--that gentle touch Sometimes the heart must speak Walks into the room--bristles like a broom Spinning cord ending, sentence pending Open the heart, forget-me-knots Hold the hand, not the flesh Sometimes the heart must speak It knows when not to seek Shut the mind, draw the lime Forget mornings mail, what's over the hill Walk eternities fold.
