My Friend A friend holds the promise of trust till the end For FRIEND is a word on which one can depend. To know what one seeks and to know what one feels Yet holds all this knowledge- to no other reveals. To somehow always be there when needed the very most And for that never seeking thanks, never blurting out a boast. To always be kind and to always be caring And never forgetting that friends are truly sharing. So because you're my friend it's with you that I'll cry And in you I'll trust till the day that I die.
