A waste of life and time.....

I thank my God for bringing back the 'trust' of infancy; and for the wisdom that I lacked, when first bestowed on me. I was a total-trusting type, which set me up to fall; and sure enough some passing snipe, would knock me off the wall. The years of always getting screwed; the knives left in my back; I'm lucky to have made it through with all my parts intact. Eventually I learned the moves; perhaps a bit 'too' well: 'No one' could pass my test of proof, or penetrate my shell. Par'noia was my master, but no more would I hurt. My friends could not leave faster - nor could they do me dirt! I threw myself into my work, and filled my nights with fun. There was no project I would shirk...No party did I shun. I set out to show the world - and do it all alone! I only dined and danced the girls: They never saw me home. I had my back against the wall, wrapped in the tomb I'd sewn. Who cared if anyone would call? My heart had turned to stone. My new address was 'martyrdom'; my banner was my pride: Though feet kept marching to my drum - my soul prepared to die. Defeated, I turned to my Lord, and He responded true: "You cannot all the world abhor...due to a wretched few. Pity only those who harm you - the rest are not germane." And just like that - I was renewed, to live and love again! I thank my God for bringing back the 'trust' of infancy; and for the wisdom that I lacked, when first bestowed on me.

Additional Notes:
If I had to trust 'everyone', or 'no one'....I would definitely do the former.
