The Storm The storm that rages just outside is beating in my heart As loneliness I hold inside is somehow keeping us apart. The drops that fall upon the roof are matched now by my eyes Streaming down to earth they fall as saddened puddles now arise. The wind that blows relentlessly now chills me to the very bone Your warmth I need but shall not find my heart so sad and so alone. The thunder jeering far above so constant and so very strong Laughing at my lonely arms for in them it knows you belong. My only hope when The Storm does pass is that the sun will brightly shine Then sad no longer will I be as at long last our hearts combine. Christopher T. Moore September 28,1993 |
