Charla's Door Now Charla has a house You've turned the doornob With an interesting door Both left and right Once you are within But this silly door Maybe there forevermore. Is stuck very tight. So plan for a time You'll look the door over When driving about Take a step back To visit her place Wondering to yourself So you can find out. What do I lack? Walk up to the door You'll try once again And give it a knock Pulling very hard You will find out later Soon become frustrated She doesn't use the lock. Call Charla from the yard. Opening the door easily Now opening a door With a smile on her face Has always been a cinch She'll invite you within But this crazy thing And show you her place. Will not budge an inch. There will come a time Charla to the rescue When you have to leave She knows the trick Not knowing the experience To open it easily You will soon receive. Without even a kick. When it is time to go So after this experience And you say good-by You can now see The door won't open Why Charla has no need And you wonder why? For using the key. |
Additional Notes:
The above poem was written from my actual experience at a lady's house(Charla) in Mission Viejo in So. Calif. in 1991. As I was leaving the house she was already in the back yard necessitating my calling to her to help me open this silly front door.
