Astmatic

Taking the breath from my lungs Exasperated Wheezing for ways to explain Swallow the stethoscope to get closer to my heart Hearing the beat Feeling the blood But not the life Not the life Pounding my chest as hard as I can No echo of reassurance Remember I'm listening Cacophony of words only spoken on knees Carpet has become pillows Chia Pet hair for Kleenex Altars; escalators for fat people  Who would just die if they had to walk up those stairs Drive thru redemption for the weak Do you honestly think I enjoy feeling this way? Intravenously fed morsels Lips pursed to the wetness of passion spilt Nursing from expired ideology Writing my own Bibles- A sacrificial lamb you can find In any K-mart clearance aisle Half off Reduced myself as much as you can ask of anyone But still open to suggestions Now, who's humble?
