BEAUTY When I first lay my eyes upon her raving beauty so pure Innocent soft face with a look to allure. Allure a young man to lose his breath To fight for her young love to his own death. So full of vigar, vision and politness How could I share a world with such brightness? I felt my hot blood thicken when she looked my way My heart began to pound I thought I may die this day. Her eyes were peircing and emerald green Golden hair like the sun sweetest smile ever seen. My face became a hot blushing red I silently stood still dropping my head. For I was but a farmer with a yellowing shirt Who worked with calloused hands all day in the dirt. Unworthy of the attentions of such a beautiful young lass I moved to the side and looked down while she passed. For I had nothing to offer no fashionable clothes Only a mortage I kept from being forclosed. I watched her drift off from the corner of my eye far away Knowing I could never forget this very day. My mind still drifts off to wonder where she might be I invision a rose garden to share in the beauty of she. Lora Long |
