The Sheep and the Goats and the Chameleon

There is a chameleonic in our pew, I’m sure that’s a word you never knew. In his pew he looks real swell, But it’s in the world he fits so well. While his ego insists he be liked by all, He denies his partnership in humanity's fall. It's Jesus Christ he should be sharing, Only earthly treasures capture his caring. He’s living his life for a temporal reputation, Assuming eternal life as his final destination. Though Jesus died that men may live, To the dying that info he’ll not give. In the Y, the store, or the shop, Not a single clue will he drop. Jesus Christ he should be spreading, That association he is dreading. While bragging that he does not judge, The hell bound sinner he cannot nudge. For himself he claims to know the Lord, That’s not a relationship one could hoard. I’m the chameleonic in our pew, Jesus says, “Depart from me, for you I never knew?”
