My Wonderful Dad I drive by each day On my way home from work Though I can't bring myself To stop by it still hurts me so I'd rather remember The father I love So full of life A joy to be around It saddens me to think You have never held A grandchild of your own Nor the great-grandchildren that followed I know I would have asked For a second hug and kiss That day so many years ago If I had known it was to last a lifetime I know you are watching over me from above Your presence quite near at times No one needs to remind me of you My wonderful dad |
Additional Notes:
For my dad; as usual there is no punctuation, I know some lines are longer but I cut down the stanza to be equal.
