Death Penalty

Regarding the crime  retribution reigns  fallen souls select solace  innocence lingers in a muddy place.  Ambient debate clamours on,  sharp eyes haze like a sultry  summer day.  Faltered hearts keep tempo  thudding a banal beat.  Death beckons an eager host  reality marries ambivalence  the gown blood red  spawning a new precedent.  Guilty limbs reside, silent.  June 2001
