It’s Here

Today I wake contemplating new life, taking in account past grief and strife. There may be much left to heal, yet today at fifty, good I will feel. Half century gone with just a blink, where did it go all in a wink? Time has flown so very fast, enjoy today as if it were the last. What will come forth in years ahead, looking eager without any dread. Life with joy, peace, and love, still having fun with my beloved. Thank you for the years I’ve had so far, even if some have left a scar. Wishing for health and blissful content, years ahead knowing there’re only lent. Writing this poem to start my day, yearning not to work only to play. Fifty seems young now that I’m here, life starts anew this very year.

Additional Notes:
Yes, it's here! Fifty comes and life starts? That is what I have been told! I will let you younger ones know.
