Where the Sea-Grass Grows

I am lonely for the ocean   And the sea gull's strident cry.   For the foggy morns and evenings   That inflame the western sky.   For the salty winds and breakers   And the ocean's constant roar,   As it rushes in and crashes   On the cliffs along the shore.   I am longing for the beaches   We can walk along and see   All the strange and briny treasures   That are left for you and me.   I can see us there together,   As we were so long ago   And the waves our names are calling,   Where the long, sea-grasses grow.
