The Red Knight's Last Battle

The bloody fray began with,"CHARGE!" Warhorses in armour looming large! Men and shield were cleft in two, Crimson streams ran deep with goo! The sun rose on battleaxes, gleaming! Human voices mixed with equine, screaming! One brave knight, alone amidst the enemy, Broadsword singing,'Death' it's cacophony! Each stroke from that blade of steel Felled foe all over the battlefield! Waist deep in deadmen, he struggled free Just as the enemy sounded their retreat! Red soldiers shouted victory around him! Until a certain secret was revealed to them. That morning before the fight started, The Red Knight died, in his sleep, departed! When his crested helmet came away, They knelt in honor, for since dawn that day, The Red Knight's companion for life, Had taken his place, the Red Lady, his wife!
