Unassassinated

Many have gone on before us, But only a few brave men have been able To leave their mark on our hearts. How do we repay some of these men? ~With assassination With much left to accomplish, an actor named Booth, changed Lincoln’s nightmare into simple truth. I saw Mr. Lincoln, loved and despised, lying on that bed much to short, as he suffered and died.  I see Jackie, clothes splattered in red, holding her husband's blood covered head. I see Rufus Youngblood climb over the back and use his body as a shield on that black Cadillac. Anxiously Lyndon B. Johnson, grief stricken with pain, takes the coveted Oath, while I look on, in his Presidential plane. I saw Medgar Ever's voice silenced in his driveway that night, where his children bore witness to this horrible sight. I see the garbage-strewn streets of Memphis,  as a rebel recoils in rage. This day Doctor King fell. I await outside of John Lennon’s apartment, with a fellow named Mark. “Can I have your autograph Mr. Lennon?” Later on, that fellow gunned Mr. Lennon down, after dark. These men have all contributed to the rise of America, and have paved the streets of success in their own blood. Many more great men and women have gone on before us, but these lives were all taken by assassination. However, their memories and accomplishments live on within our hearts forever, unassassinated.
