Five Gifts

I am Love; your God that embraces you in the night When tears have left you aching, and Laughter no longer reverberates in your ear. I am Promise; the dawn that greets every morning. The silver sky behind night's wrap that waits, On the journey your destined to seek. I am Understanding; the walk that sooths you with  Sounds no one hears, visions no one sees, In the painting that watches you move. I am Perserverance; the fabric of strength that holds The weight of your burden that chance insists You bare, as challenge stares you in the face. I am Hope; a spray of cold rain on hot summer skin, Reviving a spirit withering on crumbling stone For that once imagined impossible. I am love and I promise understanding as your Spirit perseveres through the thunder of silent storms, On wings of hope for tomorrows touch.
