In The Quiet

The light is fading in the window as night descends upon the day, And in the quiet of the hour Distant sounds flow on their way, The constant ticking of a hallway clock the cries of creatures of the night, Leaves rustling in the midnight breeze and the screech of birds soaring in flight, An eerie glow from the moon above stars that flicker like a flame, Clouds that spark our imagination never are there two the same, It is time for us to slumber in a dream we drift away, Until the sunlight brings us back again to embrace another brand new day.
