Remembering Shirley You gave me the key to life through your smile that unlocked all the happy words, that sounded as flute like tones amongst the wool herds, flowing like a river, carrying my hearts love for you over time. I still hear the sound of your low whispers, happy and gentle on the telephone, that would sing out in notes of love and melody knowing your heart was always my home, as I search for the words to say farewell to you, and still love you for all time. I send you the best roses along with the finest twilight flower reminding you the petals will fade, but not your memory with each passing hour, remembering all our precious moments sometimes sipping our favourite wine. I hope you enjoy your heavenly Christmas and the fresh taste of peppermint, which I meticulously placed inside an envelope which I sent, over the many oceans of memories and laughter, we shared over time. I send you leaves of the palm trees that shaded us in the past, reminding you the strength of the tree like my love for you will forever last. Like mimicking waves on the River Rhine, I wave goodbye in pantomime, remembering your dimpled smile and warmth during the balmy days of June, sharing our many laughs and quiet conversations in the late afternoon. I send you the grains of sweet crystalline, that you used to place in your coffee and tea, to remind you these sweet grains will never melt the memories of you and me You left on a staircase to heaven, I remain here letting my memories roam, to all our favourite places, where I will never be alone. and someday I will join you above, until then I send you my prayers and love |
Additional Notes:
My wife Shirley passed away suddenly two days before last Christmas...
With Christmas coming I pass on my gifts to her in memory and verse
and remembering...Shirley is always in my heart...
