FADING

A little old man in a chair with two wheels Sat sadly slumped by a tree His heart wracked with pain And his mind fogged by time His head wearily bowed to one knee Pieces of memories drifting away Confusion has set on his soul Fractions are left of the days that he lived And beliefs that once made him whole He was solid and strong He was faithful and true A leader for all those to see The kind of man every mother on earth Wants her son to grow up to be A husband A father A brother A friend These were stripped from him Taken with ease By an enemy strong We can't yet contain Its name is AHLZEHIMERS disease
