In Darkest Night

self-flagellation over perceived failings  pettiness in a new world  saturated with surreality  in the wake of the NY tragedy  i am numb  in the advent of war  i become a child  terrorism is incomprehensible in its audacity  no deity or deities could justify such actions  i feel shame for much of the human race  so-called civilization  has never really advanced in empathy  it just masks its animalism  with covert cleverness and abject cruelty  i pray and cry for all in darkest night  may i not be alone in this...  my hidden hopes for humanity

Additional Notes:
this is deliberately all lower case and for some reason my spell-check on Word doesn't accept "surreality" but that's the word I need to use to express those feelings.
