Nana

I always took for granted she was there for only me I gave no thought to missing her till that sad day came to be She had a way of making me the center of her day The measure of her patience teaching with a bakers clay Always jello in the icebox a candy dish for my delight Leaving the hall light on dismissing monsters in the night I was the first of many but her favorite just the same Now that she has gone from me it's my turn to play the game For every time I hear their voice it's me they're speaking of For now I am the Nana sharing life and all my love So as I kiss them each goodnight I only hope some day to see They took my love for granted and are fondly missing me.
