My Light

What muse doth fly upon my pen these hidden thoughts to scribe It tugs at reason, goads the joy brings mist into the eye. At times seems straight connected to heart and soul and mind and struggles with each one to place its light upon the line. Halted early from its wider course to rivulet trickle bound with yet a steady hope to pour its beauty brilliance round. To nourish wider landscapes the crystal fount must flow or like buried embers, heat within but none can see its glow. To suckle thought as tune to rhyme to press to higher cause and mount up where the eagle cries where time gives way to pause. To there reflect ever borrowed light from heavens faithful seed That should the sun and moon and stars go out my soul would take no heed. V.Rooks 12/98
