One Willow, Winter Dressed

Crisp the night and soft the ground with melted snow. We slowly sought a lake from yesterday and there we met our willow, winter-dressed beneath a sky gone gray. "Love is always ours," we said. The willow waved a blessing. We walked the silent streets to home. I felt your body warm to mine as we declared our time in whispered shades of evening song. Warm kisses spoke of days and nights all long and filled with love. Then, with candlelight upon your face, we held each other close, kissed the night to sleep and slept the night in sweet embrace.
