The Voyage

The voyage is blinding, vision free,  yet lights the way for soldiers three. Slay the beasts and calm the storm, chase the ghosts of devil’s form. Into the abyss – a giant leap Rescue their souls from down the deep ocean, where all sight did cease and wrench them up to surface peace. Clear all debris from their minds,  wash away what’s left behind. Mindful of their fragile state,  all pain, pray time, obliterates When finally, the battle’s fought Distant sight of safety’s port Still bound together, hearts repaired Void of aching, no longer scared  We cut the away the seaweed string Aware the tide has brought us in Reflection’s clear in a calmer sea Three soldiers, onwards, happily.
