A Twist in the Day

The clamor of children  freed from school, stream  through an open window;  futile vent for sodden air.  The screen a canvas for  a sallow sky.  A distant rumble,  forerunner of a frenzy  lost in whoops of play;  clouds twist --  an elephant's trunk.  Stampede!
