My Old Man

I don't want a new man I want my old man back. The comfortable one, who made me laugh and cry. The one with the sky colored eyes and sunlit hair. I want my old man back the one who cherished me. The one who protected me the anchor of my life. I want my old man back, the one who hung shirts on door knobs. left drawers ajar and showered me with absolute love. When I wrapped myself in a wool cacoon and night dropped it's shadowy viel, the phone rang and filled me with fright. A voice said "I'm sorry he died tonight." Slivers of pain invaded my heart. Anguish ripped me apart. I don't want a new man I want my old man back.
