Night Games

So tired, I tried to write one night; Played hide and seek with inspiration. Then softly rocked in sleep's twilight, I let in imagination. Still half awake and half asleep, I seemed to split in half, midair. Half floated down the stairwell deep; The other half stayed on the stair. While half soared up to kiss the moon, The other half went straight to bed. The first flight ended by next noon When both halves tried, but failed, to wed. My memories of moons and Mars Did barely fade in bright lit days. So half of me still lives near stars; On earth the other half still plays.
