the housewife blues

up in the morning crack of dawn run around quickly no clothes on teeth sure need brushing can't find toothpaste dog in the garbage shoes are unlaced kids in the kitchen burning the toast making his breakfast with tonight's roast phone is still ringing hair is a mess have only one stocking can't find a clean dress my mind's in a dither don't get enough sleep tub's running over water's three inches deep haven't paid any rent since the 4th of July oh landlord, dear landlord,  I really do try I have a solution I'll find a clean blouse send the kids to the movies and burn down the house
