the wrong idea

Saw the tally marks of chosen beer  water weak paper  circle stains  4 dashes then a diagnol cross  all mine  on 8 now  brought drink outside to see an old construction worker in blue coveralls  writing on a memmo pad  inspired  as he leans down to read  scratching his beard  unable to massage his head due to hard hat  newports sting my eyes  drying my throat  hir amrs folded  and i realize its just a crossword puzzle  searching for math up and down  columns outside of physical reality  30 seconds and the death of a muse  he looks at me  i tag my beer and nod  both turning ears to loud voices and open doorways
